Nanofilled, Light-Curing Total-Etch Adhesive for Moist Bonding

Description:

Adper™ Single Bond 2 by Solventum is a light-curing, total-etch adhesive for moist bonding to enamel and dentin. Its formulation contains 10% colloidal filler with a particle size of 5nm and forms a cured adhesive film approximately 10µm thick.

Alongside bonding for all classes of direct composite restorations, the adhesive supports specified repair, desensitization, veneer and indirect bonding procedures when used with the appropriate companion materials and application protocols. Separate etching of both enamel and dentin is essential; this is not a self-etch adhesive.

Indications

• Bonding of all classes of direct composite restorations
• Procedures involving porcelain, composite, metal repair and set amalgam, using the applicable surface-treatment and bonding instructions
• Root-surface desensitization according to the applicable protocol
• Porcelain veneer bonding with RelyX™ Veneer Cement System and RelyX™ Ceramic Primer
• Amalgam and indirect bonding procedures with RelyX™ ARC Adhesive Resin Cement after light curing the adhesive, according to the specified system instructions

Handling

Etch both enamel and dentin, then rinse according to the applicable Instructions for Use. It is recommended that the surfaces be left moist after rinsing. Blot excess pooled moisture with a cotton pellet or mini sponge and apply the adhesive immediately; do not use compressed air to remove pooled water at this stage.

Use appropriate isolation and pulp protection. Air used for subsequent drying steps must be free of oil and water contaminants. Follow the applicable instructions for adhesive application, drying and visible-light curing, and routinely check curing-light output. Exact exposure times and indirect protocols depend on the specified system.

Precautions

For professional dental use. Avoid use in patients with known acrylate allergies and minimize contact with uncured adhesive. Protective gloves and a no-touch technique are recommended; acrylates may penetrate commonly used gloves. The adhesive is flammable. Follow the supplied Instructions for Use and safety information for handling and the precautions associated with phosphoric-acid etchant.
